The beautiful Japanese possesses an unusually large voice, sweeping from radiant effortless heights through the rich middle range into a solid low register. Moreover, she is an excellent actress. After her debuts as Ortrud and Kundry in Tokyo she made her debut as Ortrud in Lohengrin in Germany at the operahouse in Chemnitz in Summer 2006.
Her engagements included Brangäne (2006), Eboli (2007) and E. Marty (Makropoulos 2008). She sang in Cavalleria rusticana and Alexander Newsky in Tokyo and was Herodias in Salome at the New National Theatre Tokyo in February 2008. After that she could be heard at the Tokyo Nikikai Theater in Die Walküre and Madama Butterfly and sang Geschwitz in Otsu. In 2010 she was Ortrud at the Wagner Festival Wels and sang Isolde in Tokyo. As Amneris she was celebrated in Tokyo in 2011. In 2012 she was Gora in Aribert Reimanns contemporary opera Medea.
In 2009 she received the highly acclaimed Suntory Music Award in Japan for her portrayal of Fricka, Salome, Herodias and Emilia Marty (Vec Makropoulos).
