Iréne Theorin is the shooting Star among the dramatic sopranos and a regular guest at the big operahouses all over the world. Among her most important roles are Richard Wagner`s Brünnhilde and Isolde as well as Giacomo Puccini`s Turandot. after her debut as Brünnhilde in Copenhagen she sang the part in London, Bejing, Budapest, Berlin and Dresden and made her U.S. debut in 2009   in Walküre and Siegfried at the Metropolitan Opera as well as in Siegfried und Götterdämmerung  in Washington, followed by Tokyo in 2010. From 2011 until 2013 she can be heard as Brünnhilde in the Barenboim-RING at the Staatsoper Berlin and the Teatro alla Scala and will also sing the role in the new RING cycle  in Barcelona. In 2005 Ms Theorin made her debut as Turandot in Copenhagen, which she has since then sung in Tokyo, Tel Aviv (with Zubin Mehta), Guangzhou (with Lorin Maazel), Dresden, London and San Francisco.  New York and Munich will follow. In 2006 Iréne Theorin sang her first Isolde at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, followed by guest appearances in this role in Essen, Rotterdam, Copenhagen and Tokyo. Since 2008 she is Isolde at the Bayreuth Festival, where she can be heard again in 2011. In 2007and 2008 she was Elisabetta (Don Carlos), Tosca and Elisabeth (Tannhäuser)  in Copenhagen and made her role debut as Santuzza in Copenhagen in 2012. In 2010 Ms Theorin gave her debut as Elektra at the Salzburg Festival (with Daniele Gatti), a part that she will also sing in Stockholm and Paris.  The Salzburg production was released on DVD at Arthaus in 2011. She can also been seen on a prize-winning DVD of the Copenhagen RING released by Decca. For her portrayal of Brünnhilde Iréne Theorin  received great acclaim from the critics.
