The German Mezzo Soprano Julia Rutigliano studied in Munich. As a guest soloist she appeared at the Bayreuther Barocktage and the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where she had a great success as Alarico, at the Festival Avantgarde in Munich, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Staatstheater Nürnberg and at the Theater Bonn.
A the staatstheater in Nürnberg she sang Flora, Lola, 2. Dame, Linetta (The Love for Three Oranges), Kate Pinkerton or Valencienne. At the Prinzregententheater in Munich she was Donna Elvira, Helena, Alarico and Liddy. She could be heard as Josepha Vogelhuber (Im weißen Rössl) in Bonn and recently sang Mary in Der fliegende Holländer Open Air in Braunschweig. She was heard as Carmen at the Theater Ingolstadt in 2009 and sang Donna Elvira with great success in Oldenburg.
Since 2009/10 she was a member of the Ensemble of the Braunschweig Opera, where she sang Carmen, Olga, Suzuki, Prinz Orlofsky, Aksinja, Hermia, Hippolyta, Carmen, Meg Page and Donna Elvira. In 2011 she made her debut as Tannhäuser-Venus in Bremen. 2012 she was heard in the world premiere of Mama Dolorosa von Eunyoung Kim as Nachbarin in Munich. A role she did later on at the States Theatre Braunschweig. She was Carmen at the Berliner Seefestspielen oper air. In the beginning of 2013 she was Siegrune in Die Walküre at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the baton of Zubin Mehta. Later on she will be heard as Flosshilde in Rheingold and Götterdämmerung In the new production of the RING at the Bayreuth Fetival 2013 and she will be singing Siegrune in Die Walküre in Bayreuth, too.
