The renowned Viennese magazine Der Neue Merker says about Jürgen Linn`s role debut as Baron Ochs in 2010: "Jürgen Linn\\\'s acting was spontaneous and playful with great Viennese accent... his voice showed all qualities of a real bass. I was very impressed with his lucious, full and warm deep notes in certain passages. The singer, who is internationally in high demand for the big German repertoire, is also among those artists that get too little renommée in spite of their excellent performances.“
Jürgen Linn started his international career after building up an extensive repertoire in two "Fest-Engagements" at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern and at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Since then he is a regular guest at various opera houses in Germany (Karlsruhe, Dresden, Hamburg, Chemnitz, Wiesbaden, Bonn, Nürnberg), France (Strasbourg), Italy (Milano, Triest, Bologna, Cagliari, Palermo, Rome, Verona, Venice), China (Beijing), Latvia (Riga), Poland (Wroclaw), Japan (New National Theater and New Japan Philharmonic Tokyo) and Mexico (Mexico City). He made his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano as Telramund in Lohengrin. He not only performs all big bass-baritone parts by Richard Wagner (Hans Sachs, Wotan/Wanderer, Holländer, Telramund, Amfortas, Klingsor, Alberich, Gunther, Kurwenal) but also roles like Baron Ochs, Wozzeck, Dr. Schön, Pizarro, Jochanaan, as well as contemporary music like Dallapiccola`s Prigioniero und Cortez (Die Eroberung von Mexico). Jürgen Linn is also a much sought after oratorio and concert singer.
2011 he sang Ochs in Leipzig and was heard as Handwerksbursche in a new production of Wozzeck (Director: Andrea Breth, Conductor: Daniel Barenboim) in Berlin where he has been invited again to do Schigolch in a new production of Lulu in 2012 (Director: Andrea Breth, Conductor: Daniel Barenboim). Further he did Baron Ochs in Rosenkavalier at the Badisches Staatstheater again. He was also performing Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder in Seoul under the baton of Shi-Yeong-Sung with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2013 he can be heard as Alberich in Rheingold in the new production of Rheingold and as Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier in Leipzig. In Wiesbaden he was be heard as Wozzeck and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Duisburg, he will be singing in June the Wotan in the Walküre.
